West Lomond Fail 28 Jan 2021

‘Lomonds’

During my walk on the 10th Jan I tweaked my right calf muscle. It started to hurt the next day when i was at work and has taken ages to clear up. This walk was probably a bit too soon for it as it’s set me back a wee bit and I didn’t make the top of the hill. The snow didn’t help, when it got deeper than a couple of inches it made weight bearing on my right leg really sore, I’d never have made it up the summit pap so didn’t chance it. After using some strapping and rest it’s feeling much better, after this coming Saturday I’m off for nine days and will get a walk towards the end of that.

In other news, I’ve bought a new bike, not for going up hills with, but it’s another form of exercise for me.

The weather was terrible today, rain, sleet & snow, mostly rain theough. It showed me that I need a better waterproof so that’s next on the shopping list. There was also no point in taking many pics as visibility wasn’t up to much.

The reason I tweaked my calf was ice, my employer recently supplied us with Yaktrax Walk ice grips – they are terrific, get some if you can.
